Current Position:
I manage Education, Training and Outreach programs for the Office of Student Conflict Resolution at the University of Michigan.

Education:

  • B.A. [Canadian Studies/History], University of Vermont, 1993
  • M.A. [History], University of Maine, 1996
  • M.P.A. [Public Administration], University of New Hampshire, 2005

Previous Student Affairs Experience:
I’m fairly new to Michigan, having arrived last summer to start my position at U-M. Prior to that, I was at the University of New Hampshire for seven years, where I held positions in residential life and LGBT student services.

Involvement with MCPA:
Serendipity provided my first personal contact with MCPA – I was seated on a plane next to Jennifer Hodges (2005 Conference Chair) on a flight to Detroit! She encouraged me to get involved with MCPA. I attended the 2005 conference in Lansing and had a really great experience. I found workshops were consistently solid and useful and people were warm and welcoming. I left the conference with a network of professional contacts far sooner than I imagined I would. Having been involved in local, regional and national student affairs organizations for 10 years, MCPA is by far the most welcoming and accessible organization I’ve encountered. As Co-Chair of this year’s conference, I’m honored to have a part in providing these kinds of opportunities to practitioners across Michigan and the region.

Involvement with other organizations:

  • MCPA
  • ACPA

Other Facts :
Though my family is mostly all back East, I’ve found a wonderful circle of friends in Ann Arbor and southeast Michigan!
