Past ACPA Award Winners
2007
Dr. Donna Talbot, Western Michigan University and a past MCPA Co-President was a Class of 2007 Diamond Honoree. The Diamond Honoree Program, established by the ACPA Foundation in 1999 is both a recognition program and a fund raising activity. Those nominated for consideration are recognized for their outstanding and sustained contributions to higher education and to student affairs. The funds raised on behalf of the Honorees are used for ACPA and Foundation activities in keeping with the Association’s purposes and strategic goals.
2004
The Michigan College Personnel Association received the Outstanding State and International Division Award at the ACPA annual convention. This award recognizes outstanding state or international division activities including conferences, publications and professional efforts.
2003
Barbara J. Palombi, Licensed Psychologist at Grand Valley State University, received the Distinguished Service Award from the ACPA Standing Committee for Disability.
Katherine Outlaw, MCPA's Graduate Student Liaison and a Graduate Assistant at Michigan State University, received the Outstanding Emerging Professional Woman Award from the ACPA Standing Committee for Women.
Kristen Renn, Assistant Professor at Michigan State University, received the prestigious ACPA Emerging Scholar Award. This award recognized early career achievement and potential for success as a mentor.
Sonia Garcia and Anne Hornak's showcase presentation was accepted by ACPA for presentation at the annual convention.
2001
Bob Perkins, Dean of Student Development at Alma College and past president of MCPA, received the ACPA Excellence in Practice Award on March 5 at the Boston Convention.
Bob Perkins, Dean of Student Development at Alma College and past president of MCPA, also received the Distinguished Service Award by the ACPA Commission on Administrative Leadership.
1998
Sue Heinnann, Director of ACPA presented the 1997-98 State & International Division Award for Innovation to MCPA for the Michigan Journal of College Student Development, on March 16, 1998. Regina Zmich was President of MCPA.
1995
Leah Robinson, Wayne State University, was presented the State Division Showcase Recognition Award at the ACPA Convention in Boston, MA for "What's My Name".
1992
Ross Rapaport, Counseling Center, Central Michigan University was presented the ACPA Commission XVIII Alcohol and Other Drugs Distinguished Service Award at the 1992 Commission XVIII meeting at the annual ACPA conference in San Francisco, CA.
1979
Dr. Tyrone Holmes, Wayne State University, was presented a certificate of Recognition for the MCPA State Division Showcase Program presented at the ACPA/NASPA Annual Conference in Chicago.
1979-80
Marilyn McKinney, President of MCPA, received the ACPA Award as the 1979-80 Outstanding State Division, at the Boston Convention
