2005 Presidential Address Current Address 2006-2007 2005-2006 2004-2005 2003-2004

Over the next year it is both my honor and responsibility to lead the Michigan College Personnel Association. Thank you for the opportunity to lead this organization which has meant so much to me personally and professionally. I look forward to meeting you and working with you to move MCPA forward and to provide the highest quality professional development opportunities.
The Leadership Team has many exciting and ambitious goals for the next year. Our main priorities include: reviewing and revising MCPA’s mission and purpose statements; rewriting our 5 year strategic plan; providing the highest quality professional development opportunities through conferences, journal and newsletter articles, and other options for connecting with professionals around the state; and, finally, providing graduate students and new professionals opportunities to engage in leadership and professional involvement with MCPA.
The Leadership Team is committed to making MCPA a vibrant professional organization for student affairs administrators and educators and we are always looking for individuals interested in becoming leaders. Please contact a member of the team to learn how to get involved. MCPA is currently engaged in the development of a new strategic plan. This plan will set the direction for the organization for the next five years. The first step in the process was to revisit our mission and purpose statements. The team working on the strategic plan used feedback from membership surveys and questions posed to key constituents. The Leadership Team will have drafts of the new mission and purpose statements available for review very soon. The new statements will need to be voted on by the general membership which will take place at the annual conference in October. If you have ideas and/or feedback please feel free to contact me.
In the busy days ahead please remember that MCPA is here to assist you and your colleagues in becoming the best professionals you can possibly be. Use the resources we provide: our publications, our webpage, and our network of members around the state. In that process, if there is anything that I can do to assist you, please feel free to contact me.
